HRA Information![]() High-Resolution Anoscopy (HRA) is a key component of anal cancer prevention, enabling the detection and treatment of precancerous lesions. However, access to trained providers and training opportunities can be limited. The resources below are designed to help clinicians locate training, build skills, and expand HRA capacity within their practice or referral network. 1. IANS HRA Provider Kit (IANS Members Only) The International Anal Neoplasia Society (IANS) offers a comprehensive HRA Provider Kit for members. This resource includes practical guidance on setting up HRA practice, equipment needs, clinical protocols, and workflow considerations. It is intended for clinicians who are developing or expanding HRA services. 2. IANS Education and Training Courses IANS provides a structured series of HRA training courses, ranging from introductory content to advanced, hands-on learning experiences. These courses are designed to build competency progressively and support providers at different stages of experience. Access courses here: 3. HRA illustration The illustration below (Fig.1) shows a high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (HSIL) as seen on HRA. It provides clinicians with a visual understanding of why these lesions are typically only detectable with HRA. This context helps clinicians appreciate the importance of referring patients to an HRA-trained provider when abnormal screening results are identified. Fig. 1.
